Originally from Rhea County, I have now lived in Hamilton County long enough that I call the city of Chattanooga my home. After earning my first college degree at Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia, I immediately enrolled in Mercer University to get my Master of Education. The Education Specialist degree I later earned comes from Tennessee Technological University. Each of these degrees, plus additional course work, have all been focused on education. My certifications include regular education social sciences, gifted, and special education. Whether I'm in my home in Harrison or in my classroom at Daisy Elementary, I am in my happy place.

The opening day for the 2018-2019 school year will be my 46th consecutive year of teaching. After retiring from Hamilton County in 2002, I earned another retirement from Whitfield County, Georgia. My goal to then become a substitute special education teacher back in Hamilton County began with a temporary assignment at Daisy Elementary in October, 2014. That "temporary" position is now going into its fourth year. The entire Daisy family has become my family and I look forward to spending another year with the students, their parents, and the wonderful staff that come together for a wonderful learning environment.
