Dress Code
DRESS CODE
Student attitudes are affected by the clothing they wear. Your cooperation is appreciated but also expected in order to ensure we are holding all students accountable for following the dress code. Please use the following guidelines and ask if you have any questions.
- Shorts and skirts should be long enough to come to the child’s fingertips while standing and at normal waist. If you wear shorts under another garment, the shorts must follow this same rule.
- Tops and bottoms must fit so as not to expose the belly, bottom, or cleavage. Thin straps must fit and not fall, exposing the child.
- Athletic or tennis shoes are expected.
- No crocs, boots, sandals, or flip flops are allowed due to tripping hazards on the playground and PE activities.
- All clothing should be school-appropriate, and please put your child’s name in their jacket.
Items that are not allowed:
- Makeup (Students may wear chapstick, but please teach them not to share).
- See-through or torn/ripped garments that expose an area that is not appropriate at school. This is at the administration’s discretion.
- No crop tops or shirts that expose the chest or stomach area.
- Flip flops, Crocs, open back shoes, clogs, high heels, boots, or shoe skates.
- Hats and caps (only allowed on hat day or at recess). Students are not allowed to wear any hair accessory that covers the face, such as a bandanna, scarf, or costume accessories.
- Costumes of any kind (including ears, tails, “play/dress up” costumes, etc. except on school dress-up days.) Do not wear costume objects attached to clothing.
- Any clothing with Inappropriate words or pictures.
If a student comes to school in violation of the dress code, the teacher will contact a parent to bring a change of clothes. In matters of opinion, the judgment of the teacher or principal will prevail. The administration reserves the right to add or delete from this dress code in order to maintain a proper educational environment.
