Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Cordell and I will be your school counselor this year at Daisy.
I am from Soddy Daisy born and raised and now coach softball at my alma mater Soddy Daisy High School. After graduating high school, I attended Cleveland State Community College where I played softball and received an Associate degree. After my two years at Cleveland State, I transferred to Tusculum University in Greeneville TN to finish my undergraduate degree in criminal justice as well as my softball career. Shortly after graduating with my Bachelor's degree, I enrolled in an amazing school counseling program at Arkansas State University to receive my Master's degree. I have loved every second of my school counseling journey so far. I am so fortunate to be back in the community I grew up in, which I love dearly. ❤️
As a school counselor, it is my goal to deliver social emotional lessons in each classroom at least once a month. These lessons include character trait building, social skills, emotional regulation, coping skills, academic support, etc. I will also have lunch bunch groups throughout the school year. These are a few of my top activities I will be conducting throughout the year. Student wellbeing is an important part of every student learning, and I look forward to partnering with parents and guardians to ensure our students have a great school year ahead. 🙂
